FN newsletter 03-06-2022: The latest news, and public consultations
The estimated number of people with Covid in London is 1.5 percent of the population. Please follow NHS advice to avoid catching and spreading coronavirus. Information and how to get vaccinated is on Camden Council’s coronavirus web page and Westminster Council’s coronavirus web page.
As I'm writing this newsletter it is a Public Holiday. Noisy construction work should not be happening on Thursday, Friday, Saturday afternoon, or on Sunday. Yet as I sit here at my desk I can hear a circular saw, drilling, and a sanding machine from the construction site opposite at 20 Tottenham Street. I politely asked the on-site supervisor for The Thornton Partnership to stop the noisy work. But he refused and said he was going to carry on with the work. I have made a complaint to Camden Council's noise team and also written to the freeholder of the building, Derwent London. It is not the first time I have complained to this construction company about noise on a public holiday. Unfortunately, noise nuisance from out-of-hours construction work is an all too common experience for residents in Fitzrovia. If you do suffer from this, please do complain to Camden or Westminster council about it.
Carburton Street will be closed today (Friday) for a Jubilee celebration event.
