I didn’t intend to publish another newsletter this month, as I was hoping to take a break. But a number of important local issues have come up and many public consultations have been announced, including seven applications for alcohol licences — two of them in Warren Street. Tesco has also confirmed that it will shrink its Goodge Street store which will exacerbate the decline of Goodge Street as a local shopping centre for residents.
Public art installed in 2003 on the now closed British Transport Police headquarters is in danger of being destroyed under new plans for a site on Whitfield Street.
While residents in Tottenham Street will be glad to see the back of the construction work to redevelop Arthur Stanley House work on a six-storey building in Tottenham Mews is just about to start.

Westminster Council has opened its public consultation on its Oxford Street Programme; and is asking for residents views on the future of Regent Street.
