It’s been a busy start to the year and we have lots of new articles since our last newsletter. I hope you are sitting comfortably…
Thames Water seems to be digging holes continuously in Fitzrovia. This week their contractors have started on three months’ work in Warren Street. There is also a hole in the carriageway mid-way along Tottenham Street. Goodge Street has been dug up several times over the past six months or so…
Due to the festive period our list of planning applications in Fitzrovia West during December was incomplete at the time of our last newsletter in early January. A number of late applications have now been added to that list which includes: a roof extension at 17-19 Foley Street; replacement shopfront at 51 Cleveland Street; and change to residential use of second and third floors of Duke of York pub 47 Rathbone Street. See the full list here.
Westminster City Council is to start work in February on converting Mortimer Street and Wigmore Street into two-way traffic, ahead of work in the autumn to start major changes to Oxford Street.
Camden Council has announced changes to its Statement of Licensing Policy to make it easier for businesses to get an alcohol licence. Its dopey licensing department also repeats the myth that drinking “in moderation” is good for your health.
Covid continues to remain a major threat to health. Infections and hospital admissions continue, and the disease has damaging long term impacts. Please follow NHS advice to avoid catching and spreading the virus.
