Welcome to the last FN Newsletter of 2023. In this shorter issue we have a very interesting feature about murals hidden away in an office on Bolsover Street, activities for children at Fitzrovia Community Centre in early January, and the usual round up of public consultations.
Please consider making a donation to the Soup Kitchen this winter. They have seen more people seeking food and support than ever before.
A reader has contacted us with an enquiry. "I'm trying to find out about a distant family member of mine who lived at 29 Percy Street from before 1940 to around 1980 when she passed away. Her name was Eileen Davies. Roland Collins had his studio there for the same period. My mother Margaret Maltby (nee Chappell) lodged with her during WW2 from 1941 to 45, and was good friends with Roland Collins as he had just established his studio at no 29 in 1940." Covid continues to remain a major threat to health. Infections and hospital admissions are increasing, and the disease has damaging long term impacts. Please follow NHS advice to avoid catching and spreading the virus.
